Circumstances only allowed us a very quick visit to the Sanctuary, but there was just time for a few photos....

Most of the herbs had passed their best, but it was a joy to discover the pineapple sage in full bloom, their red spikes a beacon of light amongst the general winter decay.

Even winter days can be beautiful as you can see from the photographs. Below you see the setting sun framed in the branches of a tree in the field next to the Sactuary. And the two photos below right you can see the views across the valley from the upper herb garden.
